Dr Qais Ghanem: from letter to Ms Elizabeth May by Dr Gihad Shabib

He was the one who had initiated the dialogue between Arab & Jewish Canadians. He started this initiative even during the darkest days of violence in the Middle East, when both part were extremely passionate about the issue. He started Pot-Luck for Peace by inviting activists from both communities to his house.

Dr Qais Ghanem by Riyan Qirbi

Let the greens truly be greens and call things as they are, criticism of Israeli policy is not equal to anti-semitism, if we state fact we need not qualify it to avoid being tarnished with the anti-semetic brush. It should be our wish that all nations live in peace and that the world is free of nuclear arms. I urge you to do the right thing and act like a true green who is brave enough to challenge the status quo to bring about real change.

Yours sincerely,

Riyan Qirbi

As a Jewish-Canadian, I am writing not only to stand up and unequivocally express my upport for Dr. Ghanem but also to express my outrage at such a tactic being used against him. In the several years I have known Dr. Ghanem, he has shown himself to be one of the most tolerant, compassionate and inclusive people I have ever met.

My Second Seder

Two years ago I was invited to a Bat Mitzvah at a synagogue downtown, and to my first seder at the home of a Jewish lawyer friend of mine. Both were interesting and new experiences for me.

The Next Town Hall Meeting will be on "Health for All Canadians" Thursday, 22 May 2008 at 7:00 pm
